Social Studies
The Middle School Social Studies curriculum is purposely organized around themes in World History and U.S. History, focusing on Civics, Social Justice, Geography, Economics and our Catholic Faith within each. These themes provide learners with the framework for the development of historical and geographical skills with an extended global view. Emphasis is also placed on students gaining understanding of local, state, and national government as well as current events. The Archdiocesan curriculum is written to address both the knowledge students need and the skills necessary to mature as learners in the 21st Century. These standards cut across all grades and allow the teacher to weave these concepts into the appropriate lessons which support our Catholic identity.
