Soccer

"Ours is a unique team sport. A few superstars won't carry a lackluster team very far. Give me 11 players who trust one another, follow direction, and never quit. I'll give you championships." Sir Alex Ferguson - Manchester United coach and winner of 13 English league championships in 20 years.

The boys and girls soccer teams at St. Joseph Catholic Parish School have players who have grown up playing at the very best Academy and Select club levels. The teams also have athletes whose only soccer experience is from their P.E. classes. The coaches at SJS bring together these athletes of varying experience levels to develop a soccer program any school would be proud to proclaim. Although our teams play in one of the most soccer-rich areas in the state, our teams regularly beat teams from schools with much larger enrollments. The SJS soccer philosophy is simple: attack as a team, defend as a team, trust the team.

Our soccer season runs from February through the first of May. Although we boast some of the best soccer players in the area, organized playing experience is not required. If you have the willingness to learn and the courage to compete, we have a spot for you! Being a member of the boys or girls soccer team won't be easy regardless of your experience, but the reward is immeasurable.

Expectations are high. Practices are demanding. Accountability is understood. And the bond formed with teammates runs deep. This is SJS soccer.
